A black Jesus

A new movie about the final hours of Jesus will be shot.

The main role (yes, Jesus Christ) will be played by an African American, therefore presenting Jesus as black.Jean Claude La Marre

The actor who will represent Jesus is Jean Claude La Marre, also writing the script and directing it.

Reverend Cecil ‘Chip’ Murray, former pastor of Los Angeles’ venerable First AME Church, said about the film:

“We really need to do something about the negative imaging of black America […] Black America is the only culture that worships in the form of foreign symbols. The good that can be done is that it can help lift people’s interest and combat racism and discrimination. […] It’s more likely that Jesus was black than it was that Jesus was European.”

Recently, “Son of man”, the first movie portraying Jesus as black was premiered at Sundance. Although the points of view are different, it will be interesting to compare these productions.

The film is expected to be released in November.

Jesus is conveyed as caucasion more times than none.

I see it as an identiy crisis. The color of Jesus’ skin does not testify to the work of his life and death.

I personally hope that it stirs Christan circles up. I pray that it will, and that people will turn to God because of it.

People need to research the scriptures of Barnabas to get the true account of the crucifiction. Jesus was never crucified. It was Judas on the cross, not Jesus!

“ll Holy Scriptures are found in The Black Land Why not a Black Jesus.”

First, the people that live where Jesus lived are arabs, and they are more white than black.

Second, if Jesus was black, he would’ve been treated like a slave, especially if a black would say he’s the messenger of God at that time…

Conclusion, this movie is a retarded idea.

    I guess Satan is white?

In response to Nick, can you specify where Jesus lived and what people he was brought up amongst. Second, people who don’t have knowledge of self are treated like a slave but Jesus”Isa” had knowledge of self.
The movie being retarded, wait and see it first.
Conclusion, shaytan can manifest in many different forms and colors,
white, black, chinese, male, female, angel or animal.

Jesus lived around Judaerum, Palestina and Galilea. Which would be today’s Israel, Lebanon…around that spot. I mean, didn’t you learn that at school? Unless you’re not Christian..fine.

A black under the Roman rule, and even til 1863 in the U.S. was treated like a slave. You really think people had respect for a black wanderer saying he’s been sent by god?

It makes me sick how we try to distort the past with today’s morality.

That’s like when a group defending blacks argued that Lord Of The Rings didn’t have any black actor. I mean, were there blacks in Scandinavian-Celtic stories?

Come on, accept reality how it is, that’s all I want to say.

Oh wait, let me make a movie about whites being used as slaves from Africa..

the only reason this discussion is even happening is because there is still a tremendous bias toward good being caucasian. this is due to american white dominance. this will soon end as people of color continue to outnumber
    whites.
there is no doubt that most bibles have god pictured as an older white man with a white beard sitting in the sky. jesus is shown as a white man with light brown hair. both are ridiculous and arguing about it is even more ridiculous.
being spiritual - christian - is supposed to be what transcends this
    ignorance and hateful judgement.

Hey Nick, if you do your history you will see that Jesus was from the tribe of Judah. Ref. Hebrews 7:14. He was a descendant of the King of David, who was the father of Solomon. Look at Song of Solomon 1:5-6. I know it is very difficult to image Jesus as a black man but the scripture points to this fact. Ref. Revelation 1:14-15. If I’m correct Europeans hair typically at not like wool and feet are not like bronze.
